There’s never been a better time to invest in the security of your home. At Security Safe, our mission is to give you peace of mind with state-of-the-art security systems that meet state requirements as well as your personal needs.

We are a fully licensed State of Florida security alarm and life safety fire alarm company, and all of our security and fire technicians are individually licensed and professionally trained.

We start every project with a walkthrough of your home and a review of your house plans to ensure that the system we design for you meets your security and fire alarm needs. Each of our systems includes 24/7 monitoring services that will notify emergency services in the event of an alarm.

We offer 3 levels of security systems:

Level 1
Security Burglar
Alarm Systems

Our burglar alarm-only systems focus on intrusion protection. These systems include a keypad to arm and disarm the alarm system, sensors for doors and windows, and motion detectors as required.

Level 2
Life Safety Fire Alarm

This level adds smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and heat detectors as needed. Unlike smoke detectors that provide only a local alarm, our detectors are networked together and designed to be monitored by the alarm system to ensure your safety.

Level 3
Smart Home Automation

With this level, we upgrade your house with smart lights, smart electrical outlets, garage door sensors, flood sensors, and much more to make it an integrated smart home.

Designed for Your Unique Home and Needs

A home without an alarm system is three times more likely to be burglarized than a home with an alarm system. As many as three in four uncompleted instructions can be credited to the presence of an audible alarm system in the home.

We also offer Security Safe Interactive, our interactive system that works seamlessly with Alarm.com and web-enabled devices to give you remote access and control of your home from anywhere. Security Safe Interactive controls your security system as well as smart home automation features like lighting, HVAC, and more.

How Our Home Security System Works for You

Our smart and interactive 7″ HD touchscreen allows you to monitor your security, view security videos, manage access control, and operate smart lighting and climate control devices. Each touchscreen comes with a built-in camera so you can see who is at the front door (and monitor other cameras around the home).

Home Security System Features

With our security alarm system, you can monitor and manage just about every area of your home. Some of our most popular features include:

7” Touch Screen Interface Panels

Monitoring your home security system is easy with our large, user-friendly touch screen interface. Not home? No problem. Access controls and keep tabs on your home security from anywhere with our app.

Motion Detectors

Keep tabs on hallways and large open spaces with pet-friendly motion detectors. Our motion detectors are designed to detect motion above a specified size and will not be triggered by your furry family members.

Glass Break Sensors

These sensors identify the sound of breaking glass if an intruder tries to enter your home through the windows.

Door Sensors:

Know instantly when a door is opened or closed. If you have smart locks, you can also lock your doors remotely at the same time.

Window Sensors

Window sensors can be set to “Away” or “At Home” mode so you always know when someone is opening a window.

Motion Activated Home Security Cameras

These cameras come paired with a motion sensor, so they immediately start recording when triggered by motion.

Smart Sensors

Use these sensors to monitor many different types of events and get notified when specific conditions are triggered

Garage Door Sensors

Never worry about whether you remembered to close the garage door again. With our garage door sensors, you can use your mobile device to check from the office or from the comfort of your bed.

Flood Sensors

Monitor critical areas like your hot water heater, washing machine, dishwasher, or other areas that might flood.

Temperature Sensors

Get freeze warnings or air conditioning failures to ensure the safety of elderly loved ones and pets.

Smoke Detectors (Fire Alarm Systems Only)

Our smoke detectors identify smoke and rapid rises in heat using the latest photoelectric technology. When an alarm is triggered, the monitoring station will be notified immediately.

Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Protect your home from dangerous and invisible carbon monoxide gasses.

Integrated Fall Pendants

These medical monitoring devices can be hung around the neck or attached to a wrist strap. With the touch of a single button, the device will notify the monitoring station of a medical emergency.

Doorbell Triggers

These devices wire into your existing doorbell and automatically trigger defined actions when someone rings the doorbell. Actions may include starting a video recording, turning on the porch lights, or other scenarios.

Alarm Sirens

Our sirens are loud enough to wake you and your family up in the event of an alarm. These are distinct from smoke detector sirens, which operate independently or in conjunction with alarm sirens.

Electrical Outlets and Light Bulbs

Connect our outlets and light bulbs to your security system and access programmable functions like turning on the lights when someone rings the doorbell or triggers an alarm.
What Happens When There Is An Alarm?
When an alarm is triggered, you have the opportunity to turn off the alarm with your code before the system notifies the monitoring station in most situations. The exception is when a fire or medical alarm goes off. In these cases, the monitoring station is notified immediately to dispatch the appropriate emergency responders.
How do I activate my alarm?

There are 2 ways to arm and activate your home security alarm system:

  • System Armed AWAY: In this mode, your alarm system monitors all your doors and windows for openings and closings, and motion detectors are activated. If you come home and open your front door or garage door, you will have 60 seconds to disarm the system before an alarm is triggered. If a window is opened in this mode, the alarm will go off instantly. Set this mode when everyone leaves the home.
  • System Armed HOME: In this mode, your alarm system will only monitor your doors and windows, but will disregard any motion detectors inside your home. Set this mode when you go to bed at night.
Do fire alarms turn off when I deactivate the security system?

No. Smoke detectors and fire alarm monitoring systems are continuously active, no matter what mode you set your alarm system to. If smoke is detected, they will immediately sound the alarm and contact emergency services.

Who is notified when an alarm goes off?

When an alarm is triggered, it immediately sends a signal to the central station monitoring your home. This signal can be sent several different ways:

  • Phone Line: This is the most common way to send alarm signals, but it can be disabled if an intruder cuts the phone lines.
  • Internet Network: Alarm signals can also be sent over the internet, although this tends to be less reliable since connections may be disrupted.
  • Wireless Cellular: The most secure and reliable method is via a cellular transmitter (a mini cellphone) that is built right into your alarm panel. This is the method that Security Safe uses most of the time.
What happens after the central monitoring station is notified?

The operator at the dispatch center will respond differently depending on the type of alarm:

  • Intrusion Burglar Alarm: The dispatch operator will promptly call your home for personal identification and verification of the person’s authorization to be on customer premises. If there is no answer after a maximum of six (6) rings, the operator will dispatch the police or other responding entity.
  • Fire Alarm: The dispatch operator will promptly call to determine the cause. If the telephone is not answered after a maximum of six (6) rings, the operator will transmit the alarm again to the Public Fire Service Communication Center who will dispatch emergency services.
  • Medical Alarm: When the operator receives an alert from a medical monitoring device, they will telephone the subscriber to confirm a problem exists. If a true emergency exists, then the dispatch operator will notify the appropriate emergency response agency.
  • Panic Alarm: Unless otherwise noted, the dispatch operator will verify the signal by calling your home.  If they cannot reach you or improper identification is given, the monitoring facility will dispatch the authorities.
Does triggering an alarm always result in an emergency response?
Once the dispatch operator has determined that there is an emergency, they will notify the appropriate emergency service(s) to respond to the alarm. Due to the high number of false intrusion alarms, some police departments may have different response guidelines. To find out what your local police department’s response rules and guidelines are, please contact them directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens with my security alarm if I move?

If your new home is in our service area, we can update your contact information and transfer your account to your new address. If you move outside our service area, you will need to notify us within 30 days and provide proof of your new residence in order to cancel your account. We will either pick up our equipment or charge the balance due on equipment you keep.

Will having a security alarm decrease my homeowner’s insurance?

On average, an actively monitored home security alarm can reduce your homeowner’s insurance up to 20%. Many insurance companies will offer additional discounts if you also have monitored smoke detectors.

What are pet immune motion detectors and how do they work?

With a traditional motional detector, a tripped sensor causes a false alarm when your pet enters the coverage area. Pet immune motion detectors ignore the motion caused by animals within a specified weight range, reducing the likelihood of a false alarm. Features vary by manufacturer and model, but can include selectable sensitivity for pets up to 40 pounds or up to 80 pounds. They can also be set to disregard one large pet (like a full-grown dog) or several smaller pets (such as multiple cats). Most security system motion detectors use passive infrared (PIR) technology to monitor heat changes in a designated area.

I rent an apartment. Should I still consider a home security system?

“Home security” doesn’t refer only to houses. It also applies to apartments. Statistically, renters are just as vulnerable to burglary and theft, if not more so.

Burglars most often attack during the day, looking for empty apartments with easy access, plenty of cover, and the best escape routes. Studies show that more than 30% of all apartment burglars accessed the unit through an open door or window. For these reasons, renters should invest in apartment security measures that will keep you, your family, and your possessions safe.

Do wireless security systems work during home power failures?

Some wireless security systems can function during power outages. It depends on the method of communication between the security system and the monitoring center. If the Internet or VoIP is used, then the alarm system will lose connectivity in the event of an Internet outage. If cellular radio is used, then your alarm system will be able to maintain communication even when the power is out and you can’t get Internet service.

Why are false alarms a problem?

False alarms take police away from real emergencies. When your home security system activates, it’s like dialing 911 and the police respond as if there is an emergency. False alarms can also lead neighbors to ignore your alarm if it happens repeatedly.
